Muties

Oh, my cover class, the class that somehow always get done. This week we had to illustrate the cover for a graphic novel called Muties: The Changeling. My original illustration for the young girl on the cover was to prettily lit for the tone of the narrative so I toned it down for the final.

I designed a logo to go with my resume, business card and website. Her little mask is based on a bird design and I really like things that glow (like stars), so I threw in some stars.

This baby was the result of an assignment from my Cover to Cover class (where we make book covers!), and the prompt was to illustrate the cover of Benjamin Franklin: A Biography. I was a little heavy on the secondary characters, etc, etc, but I like it.
