In Between Classes

Today is my first day of Internshiping! I will be working at the MIT Gambit Games Lab with four other RISD students where we will be lending our art skills to game designers.

This piece has nothing to do with that. I thought I'd practice drawing machinery since it's never something I think to draw.

Hansel and Gretel

Another late night. Another piece. This is, again for my animal class though I can't say I would have guessed looking at it. There are some fish and the kid's masks are based on a European Robin and Tufted Titmouse. If I argue my way correctly Lars won't get mad at me.

Originally, the little girl was going to be dropping eggs, but of course as my friend Lia pointed out, eggs don't float unless they're rotten. If anybody analyzed the piece they would clearly get the wrong impression, so I went with pears because I like them, and I think they might be made out of glass.

Now I have to print this and draw some sketches before my review!

Caudipteryx

We finally got to dinosaurs, hurrah! Those bird things in the back are based on a Caudipteryx, a feathered dinosaur. I like young girl adventures and dinosaurs, so I drew this. I think her name is Banu and I'm not quite sure where she's just arrived, but she's perplexed, and I'm tired.
